It sure isn’t a joke when I say that it’s been months since we wrote anything about Amused Sloth’s old-school-like FPS game “Gorescript “, because our last post about the game was published back in June this year. Anyways, the silence has now been broken. You see, Amused Sloth just informed us that “Gorescript” is 30% off on Steam to celebrate the level editor update:
“Gorescript comes now with a Level Editor that puts you in charge of designing nightmare fueled voxel horror filled levels! Gorescript is a classic first person shooter game, inspired by the great old classic FPS games that defined the genre” – Amused Sloth

You can really tell that “Gorescript” has been heavily inspired by old-school FPS games like “Quake” and “Doom”. I don’t mind that though, as I still like games like that (that’s why I still play “Brutal Doom”).
That’s great news for both new comers and fans alike with no doubt. So, what does the “Gorescript” level editor have to offer then? Well, these are the said features for now (you will find a tutorial video further down the page. You could also check the “Gorescript” homepage for more help):
Level editor features:
– Create entirely new levels and share them on Steam Workshop
– Add monsters, weapons, power ups and explosive barrels
– Add switches, trap doors and elevators
– Modify lighting
– Script various parts of the level using Lua

There are plenty of weapons and enemies to kill in “Gorescript”. However, just like any other FPS game, It’s a wise idea save as much ammo as possible for the harder levels (not to mention boss fights).
As for those who have no idea whatsoever what “Gorescript ” is all about, here’s a short description of the game by Amused Sloth’s themselves:
“Gorescript is the successor to the 2014’s Gorescript Classic. An experiment of the developer Sergiu Bucur to build a classic FPS game on Javascript/WebGL. In 2016 Sergiu decided to create a new custom game engine and create Gorescript as a full game, staying faithful to the way the old classics like Doom were made”
So there you have it folks =) And with that said, what’s your take on this matter? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
