***UPDATE 1 – 2016-03-18 – 21:08 CET***
Today has been a very good day for me, because not only did “Senran Kagura: Estival Versus” launch in Europe today. I also just found out that some really great news for those who love “Doom”. Well, “Doom 64” to be exact. Any ways, Sergeant_Mark_IV uploaded a brand new “Brutal Doom 64” alpha gameplay video just recently. And let me tell you what, the game looks freaking awesome! And this is what Mark_IV had to say about his latest “Brutal Doom 64” video:
“This is a VERY early alpha gameplay. Lots of things are subject to change. Just demonstrating on this video some basic stuff such as gibs, lightning effects, and brightmaps. There is no release date yet. An official trailer will come up soon, showing more enemies and weapons.” – Sergeant_Mark_IV
Well, I think it´s safe to say that Mark_IV proved his point with that video. As it demonstrated the lightning effects, brightmaps and in-game engine perfectly. So I´m really curious to watch the official trailer for the game as soon as possible. However, there is no release date for neither the trailer or “Brutal Doom 64” at this time (Mark only stated that he aims to release the official trailer “soon”). Nevertheless, I´m super hyped. And since I´m already enjoying “Project Brutality“, and waiting patently for ID Software´s Doom (4). 2016 has become the year of Doom for me. So let´s just say that I´m very happy to be alive right now.
With that said, what do you think about the new “Brutal Doom 64” video? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!

As I´m a huge fan of the Doom series, I am a very pleased and happy Gamer at the moment. I mean, sure. We have already been blessed with “Brutal Doom v20B” and “Project Brutality” (which kicks tons of ass). However, there is more greatness that awaits us. Because I just found out that Sergeant_Mark_IV is working on Brutal Doom 64! Yes, “Doom 64” will undergo a full Brutal Doom total makeover. And how freaking awesome isn´t that on a scale 1 to 10? Well, it´s great news for those who like Doom 64 at least. And personally, I´ve been a fan since the game launched to the N64 (Doom 64 hit the market back in March, 1997). And the main reason behind that would be the fact that I really enjoyed the demonic soundtrack, atmosphere and the hard difficulty. Anyhow, this is how Sergeant_Mark_IV has described his Brutal Doom 64 project so far:
“Following the GZDoom port of Doom 64, BD-64 revitalizes the old Doom 64 with new special effects, particles, lightning, gore, new sounds, more weapon animations (shotgun reloads, smoother minigun barrels, etc.) and monsters and stuff cut from the original Nintendo 64 version. Works on GZDoom and Zandronum in OpenGL mode. (Zdoom and Zandronum Software mode are not supported.) No downloads available yet. Mod still is very early WIP.” – Sergeant_Mark_IV
And based on the Alpha pictures which I have seen so far, I have to say that “Brutal Doom 64” looks and feels like a “Brutal Doom” remake of “Doom 64” (ultra violence, better graphics, music, sound effects and so on). So it´s going to be really interesting to see what the final product of “Brutal Doom 64” will look like. Nevertheless, there are probably tons of more work to get done for Sergeant_Mark_IV. So I bet that it´s going to take quite a while before we get to play the final version of “Brutal Doom 64”. Even so, I can´t hide the fact that I´m really excited and thrilled over the “Brutal Doom 64” project.
You see, in my opinion. “Doom 64” is a very underrated version of Doom (I think the game is like a mix of Quake, Doom with tons of hellish music and demonic nightmares on top of that). And most people haven´t even played the game either. Sure, the game has it flaws. However, I hope that Sergeant_Mark_IV will be able to fix most of the things which people disliked with “Doom 64”. Because I think “Doom 64” deserves to have a wider audience. Oh well, time will tell. I´m going to keep a close eye on the “Brutal Doom 64” project though.
