I’m by no means any stranger to beat-em-up or music games (I grew up playing beat-em-up’s such as “Streets of Rage”, “Double Dragon“, “Golden Axe” and music games of the likes of “Parappa the Rapper” and “Vib-Ribbon”). Even so, I can’t quite remember the last time I saw or heard of a game that mixed beat-em-up with music and rhythm. Well, that just happen to be the case with EvilCoGames music powered beat ’em up game “Terrorhythm“.
So as you might imagine, I got quite excited when EvilCoGames informed us per e-mail that “Terrorhythm” is coming to Steam on the 30th of March:
“Dear Robin, I am sending a new email about the music-themed beat’em up TERRORHYTHM to inform you that the game will be released on March 30th. One of the coolest features in it is that you can upload your music from your own mp3 files (custom track mode). I will provide more info as the release date gets closer” – EvilCoGames
Awesome indeed, but what exactly is “Terrorhythm” all about then? Well, here’s a short description of the game and it’s back story:
“TERRORHYTHM – the music powered beat ’em up game. Follow the rhythm of music to defeat the security systems that keep any sound from the society. You are here to challenge and break the total muted control system. You are the TERRORHYTHM!
Can you hear it? Can you hear anything?Exactly! Absolute silence is the only law here…In the middle of 25th century the world has plunged into the totalitarian system of sound isolation that made the world absolute muted. In the world where the silence is the only anthem, you should break the law to bring back the sound and the music to humanity. But while there are those who still remember the melody of the former life, hope remains. We are here to defy terror. Follow the rhythm to defeat the security systems that keep any sound from the society.Fight to the music, fight for the music!”

If you master the skill to feel the rhythm, then you can collect combos to hit massive range attacks.
As for game features, here are some of the said launch features for “Terrorhythm”:
Features:
– Hardcore rhythm beat ’em up game in the cyberpunk style with colorful animation of characters, spectacular FX.
– Get ready for intense combat action as you battle with numerous guardians of the total silence on the beat of music using 4 buttons.
– Feel the rhythm, collect combo’s to hit massive range attacks.
– The direct connection between the music beat and your character’s moving will give a new gaming experience.
– The game provides several levels of difficulty including a hard mode for high score gainers and the achievers.
– Play with keyboard, controller or even with USB dance pad.

“Terrorhythm” is said to offer a direct connection between the music beet and your character’s motion on-screen, and that’s said to give the players a brand-new Gaming experience.
Well, I don’t know about you, but I find that to sound rather cool. Furthermore, I also enjoyed the teaser trailer for “Terrorhythm” quite a bit (you can watch the said trailer further down the page). So with a little bit of luck, I might actually get a chance to try out the game myself in a not too distant future. As for here and now though, you can watch a handful of gameplay videos via Terrorhythm’s Youtube page =) (that’s at least a good start until EvilCoGames drops a playable demo for “Terrorhythm”).
And with that said, are you guys and girls excited for the Steam release of “Terrorhythm”? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
