I (Robin Ek, TGG) had no idea what ResistJam was all about until I was informed about its existence earlier today. Well, for those who don’t know what ResistJam is all about, this is the actual official description of the event/game jam:

“#ResistJam is an online game jam about creating games that resist oppressive authoritarianism in all its forms, in partnership with IndieCade. It differs from most game jams in that we’re providing mentorship and workshops from experienced members of the game industry to make sure that as many people as possible can participate, no matter their skill level. Our objective is to empower jammers to make amazing and powerful games by focusing on diversity and inclusion.” – ResistJam

Would you like some social activism, politics and SJW propaganda with your game (s)? Alrighty then!

It’s not all that hard to see a political/social activism pattern among the ResistJam games.

In other words, ResistJam is like the video game version of the “Rock Against Bush” event (only this time it’s Trump instead of Bush). Well, I have no problem with that, as that’s what freedom of speech is for (indie game developers can submit their games from March 4th 2017 at 2:30 AM to Tomorrow at 1:30 AM ). However, I couldn’t help to notice the high levels of social activism, political correctness and SJW nonsense that’s to be found on ResistJam’s homepage.

I wonder how long it will take before “Abrams Tank” get pulled from the ResistJam homepage? (well, either that or a huge change of the product description for the game).

That is also why I found it to be somewhat odd that the description for “Abrams Tank” sounds like something from an episode of South Park (as seen in the picture above). So I take it that the person who published that text did it so in-order to troll ResistJam as a whole? Because I hardly doubt that the following text goes hand in hand with ResistJam’s believes and agendas:

“You’re the non binary non cisgendered fluid pan sexual grey alien they contact when things go really Trumped up. You’re the non binary non cisgendered fluid pan sexual grey alien that gets things like social justice done. And you have been summoned here for a reason.

There’s inmigrant people to rescue, racist mutants to kill, hair to dye, hashtags to trend. Get in, rescue/kill, get out. Without any questions. That’s your priority. Politics, flags, loyalties, or even the thrill of the ride, you aren’t concerned with none of that. Your single concern is the meeting the objective of social progressiveness, with deadly precision or else your failure will be seen from social media.

Abrams resists a retro pixelated fps which praises pplzs differences and diversity, preaches inclusion, and stands proud with our different communities to fight against the oppressive new regime and do a statement about social justice.”

Well, I think it’s safe to say that it’s quite obvious that the text is making fun out of SJWs and those who are anti-Trump. Nevertheless, I couldn’t help to think about the social activism events that went down at GDC 17 when I read through the ResistJam homepage…So I truly hope that this is not the new norm for game jams, Gaming events and game development as a whole, because then the world of games will end up looking like the reality of today’s Sweden (the nr 1 SJW/PC country in the world). Simply put, you can kiss most of your favorite game titles and series good-bye. As they most likely will have to under go an SJW transformation in-order to please the PC-police…I guess that we just have to wait and see. I will do what I can to fight against any attempts of that kind though.
