Spain – [February 22nd 2022].
The Holland-based video game publisher and indie games developer 2Awesome Studio today announced with great pride and excitement that they will soon launch a Kickstarter campaign for their upcoming indie battle arena shooter/rougelite “AK-xolotl”.

Furthermore, 2Awesome Studio has also just announced a look and game direction for “AK-xolotl”!

When officially joining the studio as an in-house project back in November of last year, it was announced that the game would become a bigger project — and now the time has finally come to announce the major changes.

AK-xolotl started as a top-down arcade shooter featuring an axolotl, the cutest amphibian. 2Awesome is now proud to announce the newest addition to the game: Predator, a rich roguelite experience!

Progress through the ecosystem and show who the real apex predator is! Advance through several maps that mix the best of both worlds: procedurally generated biomes, for a randomized experience, and carefully handcrafted room layouts, to achieve the perfect pond atmosphere.

Collect food and unlock new powers along the way. Reached the end? Don’t worry, you can take your beefed up axolotl on a new run (new game+ style) and face off even deadlier enemies!

After each run, bring your findings and watch your pond evolve: unlock new areas, decorate your surroundings, change your looks…you won’t just be hunting with style, you’ll also be living with style! 😎

But down worry, the arcades modes are not going anywhere! You will still be able to enjoy our 3 different arcade modes, for whenever you have a craving for some bite-sized action. 🍖

To help fully bring this project to life, 2Awesome is also launching a Kickstarter campaign very soon. The upcoming project page is already live with the option to be sign up and be notified when the campaign finally launches.

Steam Next Fest: February 2022

In addition to the previous announcement, AK-xolot is also featured on this years Steam Next Fest that is live right now. A demo is available for general public that features the most recent gameplay and art improvements, and also the newly added HUB. The demo can be downloaded on AK-xolotl’s steam page, here.
