One could probably joke about “filthy console peasants” all day long after that you watched Square Enix´s tech demo for “Witch Chapter O [Cry]“. As the DirectX 12 “Art and tech” demo (which used four Nvidia Geforce GTX graphic cards) pushes the limit for what you can do as a game developer for PC (Windows 10 in this case).
But i´m not going to joke about that. As i use consoles as well, and Square Enix tech demo sure ain´t no joking matter. As the DirectX 12 demonstration was a real jaw-dropper. Because not only was the whole demo recorded in real-time (on and off in-game footage and CG), but we might actually get to see realistic hair in video games for the very first time in the history of Gaming.
That might not sound like a big deal, but unrealisitic hair has haunted Gamers since the dawn of time (pretty much). Well, DirectX 12 might just put an end to that. But don´t take my word for it, just watch the video and judge for yourselves.
