It’s been about three months since I wrote my article about Maiden Gaming Inc’s impressive lewd F2P online battle arena RTS PC game “League of Maidens” (the alpha version is out now for PC, but the final version “might” not be released before sometime next year), and during that time I thought for myself “I probably should try to get an interview with the devs behind this game as soon as possible, because this game looks awesome as hell”. Well, just recently I got the chance to do exactly that. So I talked with Maiden Gaming Inc. about everything from censorship in games, lewd games, their plans for LOM and much more.
So without further ado, please enjoy our interview with Maiden Gaming Inc. =)

Do you think that you could be so kind and do a brief introduction of yourself to our readers?
Maiden Gaming Inc.
Sure. My name is Patrick Desmarattes and I am the owner of Maiden Gaming Inc. I’ve been a software engineer since 2001 working on business-related software and started a small mobile gaming company in 2002. Since then I’ve always wanted to get into PC gaming but settled for the security of a normal development job until a few years ago when I decided to start Maiden Gaming. I’m an avid video game player and obsessed twitch viewer.
Robin TGG
What’s the story behind how Maiden Gaming Inc. came to be? And was it something that you have dreamt about doing for a very long time?
Maiden Gaming Inc.
It has been a dream of mine for sometime to create Maiden Gaming. After getting a taste of the mobile gaming space in 2002, I knew that a full-fledged PC gaming company was something that I wanted to do eventually. I have a friend who is just as into games as I am and also a developer, so we made the decision to give it a try and see where things ended up.
Robin TGG
How on earth did you come up with the theme and idea for “League of Maidens”? And did you guys decide very early on that you would go for a lewd approach with your game?
Maiden Gaming Inc.
The idea of League of Maidens came from our enjoyment of moba games and sexy women and branched out from there. Our goal has always been to create something sexy and fun. When I play games in 3rd-person, I’d rather stare at a sexy girl’s behind the entire time, and not a males. That I feel is a pretty normal mindset.
Robin TGG
What’s your take on sex, nudity and lewd content in general when it comes to video games? Because I have noticed that lewd games have become a rather loaded subject among SJW’s and feminazis as of lately (just wait until they discover that Gal Gun 2 is coming to the West for the Switch and PS4 in Spring next year).
Maiden Gaming Inc.
My take is that everyone has a right to make and/or play the game that appeals to them. It reaches past females and showing skin or sexiness. It applies to anything that anyone likes. No matter what it is as long as it is legal you have a right to enjoy it without being judged. I’ve come to dislike the term SJW because it is viewed as derogatory so I’ll just state that anyone that feels the need to judge someone else for what they enjoy is unhealthy.
Playing devils advocate I could say that the thought would be that women are exploited in all of this. And my response to that is that a majority of men don’t have eight pack abs and biceps the size of genetically enhanced watermelons. Women aren’t being exploited specifically. The gaming genre (no different than the film genre) at its core exploits. Sex, Violence, etc….
Robin TGG
Here’s a follow-up question on the same subject. Why do you think that it’s such a big deal when it comes to lewd content in games? Because movies and TV-series (for example) seem to get off the SJW/PC hook much easier than games ever did, and how comes that no one complains about male nudity and super fit and hot guys in games? I mean, isn’t it pretty hypocritical to whine about sexy females and female nudity, when there are tons of male stuff like that in games as well?
Maiden Gaming Inc.
I honestly couldn’t say. To understand the mind of someone that feels the need to judge is beyond me as it is a different line of thinking then my own. I think it is hard for some people to understand that not everyone thinks the same way. Not everyone likes the same things. People just need to be comfortable understanding that.
Robin TGG
Could you perhaps do a brief introduction of “League of Maidens” for those who have no idea (whatsoever) what the game is all about?
Maiden Gaming Inc.
Sure. League of Maidens is a 3D free-to-play online battle arena real-time strategy game for PC featuring beautiful maidens with superhuman powers. Players battle each other in teams of 5 to destroy towers guarding the enemy base. The match is won when all towers are destroyed including the main tower located in the enemy base. Up until recently, League of Maidens has only had one mode, but we are in the process of adding two new modes that we are excited to share with players soon.
Robin TGG
How has the feedback and reaction been from Gamers and the Gaming media when it comes to “League of Maidens”? And what’s your plans for the game for the rest of this year and next year?
Maiden Gaming Inc.
Feedback has been great. We have gotten coverage on a lot of major gaming websites, and we’re really happy with the response. People that “get it” love what we are doing, and the people that don’t will simply find some reason to get upset about it. So we are happy with what we got going right now and focus on the positives instead of the negatives. We have a new build coming hopefully towards the end of the year at the latest early next year which will have revamped character models, 10x the character customization, two brand-new modes and much more. So we along with our community are very excited about what is to come.
Robin TGG
Where do you draw your line when it comes to lewd content for “League of Maidens”? And what do you like the most with the game and it’s lewd content so far?
Maiden Gaming Inc.
I think that when it comes to sexiness in our game, we don’t really have a line per se. However, one thing worth noting is full nudity. To us, we feel like the sexiest part of sexiness (if that makes sense) is the little bit that is left to the imagination. It is the little bit that makes your mind run wild. You don’t have that with full nudity. Full nudity in a video game is amazing for all of about 5 minutes. Initially, I stated 15 minutes but a great member of our community said it was more like 5-minutes, and I agreed. Once you are exposed to everything there is to offer there is nothing left to fantasize about. Nevertheless, even then that logic only applies based on the context of the nudity. So in some context, it makes sense and in others it doesn’t.
Robin TGG
I couldn’t help to notice that you got some really sexy and awesome art work and comics for “League of Maidens”. So who’s the brilliant person behind those? And do you intend to create more art works and comics in the future?
Maiden Gaming Inc.
We’ve worked with several artists. The most notable of the group would be Ryan Kinnaird. He is a great friend to the company and an amazing artist. We love his art style. We do but in the end, it really depends on our community. If they are supportive of those endeavors, then we will for sure create more. We have lots of ideas for medium outside of gaming to support the lore of League of Maidens that we are excited about. However, it requires the support of a healthy community.
Robin TGG
What’s your take on censorship in the games industry and censorship in general? And have you felt any backlash from the SJW moment due to the lewd content in “League of Maidens”?
Maiden Gaming Inc.
I think censorship in any form is unhealthy and born out of fear. It is sad to witness, but it is a part of human nature. As far as backlash, we ignore the negatives and focus on the positives. We are way too busy working ridiculous hours on the game to have the time to focus on anything negative that comes from a dislike of our direction as apposed to a legitimate functional issue with the game. So even If there has been a backlash against us, then we wouldn’t know anything about it, because we aren’t paying attention.
Robin TGG
Which lewd games besides your own have you enjoyed the most this year? And why? And which lewd games and series do you love the most?
Maiden Gaming Inc.
I think Nier: Automata has been a big stand out for me. Coming from a love of anime, Ghost in a Shell, sexy women in gaming Nier showed us that it is possible to make an AAA game sexy and not have to worry about explaining why. Someone can ask why do women in video games have nice butts or big breasts. The answer is quite simple, because a large percentage of men (and quite a lot of females) love nice butts and big breasts.
“Nier: Automata” although not well endowed definitely comes across as a beautiful and sexy protagonist in a game that delivers an amazing experience with no apologies for the artistic direction of its characters. Outside of Nier I’m playing The Secret World Legends and Dungeon Fighter. On Twitch I enjoy watching Dead by Daylight streams and Fortnite most notably from a streamer called Hexy.
Robin TGG
What is it that makes “League of Maidens” stand out from the crowd? And could you list some reasons why players should pick LOM up instead of some other titles in the same genre (s)? Furthermore, what aspects of LOM are you most proud of so far?
Maiden Gaming Inc
I think the style of battle will shock players as to how much fun and different it is then other games in the market. So as an outsider we’ve though of ways to help make things different but fun at the same time. So I’d say the thing I am the most proud of is the gameplay. I think people that will enjoy League of Maidens will enjoy a different take on the genre.
Robin TGG
Is there any plans at all to release “League of Maidens to other formats than PC in the future? And have you ever thought of selling some sexy T-shirts, posters and such for LOM?
Maiden Gaming Inc.
At the moment, no, because we are concentrating on PC only for the time being. However, we do have T-shirts and other merchandise for sale, which can be found at our official website www.maidengaming.net.
Robin TGG
As you might have noticed, quite a few Japanese game developers don’t care all that much about PC/SJW nonsense when they create their games. As they simple create what they love. In other words, if there’s a market for that kind of game (s), then they just create them (thus the reason why we have games like DOAX3, Gal Gun, Senran Kagura with many more). So do you think that Western game devs should grow a pair and stick to their guns instead of caving into SJW’s that whine about everything there is?
Maiden Gaming Inc.
I think developers should do what is right for their game. I mean, it would be easy to say ” just forget about everything around them” but in the end what matters the most is listening to your community and what they want. Our community enjoys sexy women showing skin in our game. And luckily for us, we love that too. So it is an easy thing to deliver. I think western game developers have much more pressure on them if they are not self funded. So there is a lot pressure from financial partners, publishers, potential players, the media. The list goes on . So I can understand why most western developers cave to that pressure. Simply put, It’s just not something we are going to do.
Robin TGG
What’s your plans, hopes and expectations for the rest of the year? And is there anything else that you would like to say to our readers?
