Humanity has always (more or less) been curious and fascinated by space and the universe. And that´s something which I can relate to, as I’ve been a fan of sci-fi (Star Trek got me hooked up to sci-fi at a very early age), NASA, and astronomy for as far as I can remember. And once I started to play games such as Master of Orion, Galactic Civilizations, The Dig and Alpha Centauri. I got even more interested in sci-fi and space. And as you might have noticed, there have been quite a few new space inspired games (FTL: Faster Than Light, Star Citizen, Elite: Dangerous) and movies (Interstellar, Jupiter Ascending) as of lately.
I welcome that though. Well, at least as long as the games and movies are really good, and speaking of space games. We were contacted by a small indie studio called Kamai Media the other day. And they just happened to be working on a really neat third-person action/space adventure game called “Sonder” (aka “The Station”). Which would be a rather “different” and unique kind of space game. Since there isn´t really just one main protagonist in the game. In other words, every character in “Sonder” is the main protagonist. And that should offer a rather interesting gameplay experience for sure, as every character has his or her own narrative, personality, missions and perspective of things.
However, it remains to be seen if “Sonder” is fun to play or not. I´m also not quite sure what the actual goal of the game is? I´ve been told that you´re supposed to find out who you are, but I don´t know if that´s the “real” main goal of “Sonder” or not. It´s true that you will be able to play “Sonder” in multiplayer and singleplayer mode though (for PC and next-gen consoles). Kamai Media will also showcase “Sonder” at Gamescom. So if you´re going to Gamescom, then don´t forget to visit the “Sonder” booth! And say hi from us 😉
